Hi ya'll! I just finished up this Spring set. Doing needle punch again ~ but want to start a rug soon! This is an aged covered box with a duckling and spotted eggs.

Hope all you northerners are doing ok with all the snow. Unreal!!

More Needle Punch Rag Dolls

Hi my blogland friends! Hope everyone is having a great week and the weather is nice where ever you're at. Today, we're having a high of 70 ~ very nice outside!

Anywhoo ~ I just finished up these folky needle punch rag dolls. And actually, they were inspired by a stitchery pattern I have from Twigs and Sprigs called Raggedy Friends. They measure approx. 13", 7" and 9" so they're pretty good sized needle punched dolls.

Otay folks! I'm off to do some housework and then outside I go hi-ho!!!

Needle Punch Rag Doll

Here's a little needle punch rag doll I finished up yesterday. She would be a great shelf sitter or tuck.

I really want to be hookin' a rug but DANG it! ~ I've run out of foundation!! Hate when that happens, lol!

I hope all my blogland friends are having a wonderful Sunday!

Jeremy With His Rug

Thought I would share a picture of my son Jeremy with the rug I hooked for him of his drawing he did when he was 7 years old. This was taken last Sunday at his 32nd birthday party. I wish I wouldn't have snapped the second picture when I did ~ his eyes are closed, LOL!!!

Heart Rug

Hi Folks! Here's prolly my one and only Valentiney rug for the season, LOL! But it could be left out all year long I 'spose. I always hate to finish a rug ~ 'cuz then I have to think of another project. I might do something needle punch next......don't know.....

Welp, my husband just got laid-off (seems to be the American way these days). I've been laid-off for nearly 2 years and can't for the life of me, find another job! I've heard, adversity is supposed to build character ~ at my age I have all the character I need! So guess we'll be eatin' hay with the horses pretty soon, I think I'll soak mine first so it's not so dry, LOL!

Still smilin' ~ Marte

Hooked Rug For My Son

This is a rug I hooked for my son Jeremy. He'll be 32 years old on the 17th and thought he might like this. The picture is one he drew and colored when he was about 7 years old and because I've kept EVERYTHING my boys did through the years, I thought this would be a nice hooked rug for him. The little blonde boy holding oranges is his younger brother Justin, then there's him with his ball cap on, holding apples and then me standing by the house and flowers. I framed his drawing and used the same wool as a mat that I used to hook the background of the rug. I will give this to him on his birthday and I really hope he likes it. I've kept it just as he has drawn it and even tried to keep the colors in the same color group. You can't see clouds in his drawing but they're there ~ just very light and the camera didn't pick 'em up.

Here's hoping ya'll are staying warm in this weird frigid weather! Here in Florida, it's been very cold and we're having hard freezes. I drove to Michael's on Saturday in sleet! Imagine that...
I like the cold but it's been tough on my critters who are not used to this. Even the poor tree frogs are freezing to death. They live on my porch under the shutters and I'm finding them froze on the porch floor! So sad!!!

Critters

Here's a picture I took the other day of just a few of my babies. The paint horse is Cowboy, the buckskin quarter horse is SunDance (he's 27 years old now!), the sorrel quarter horse is Whinnie and then there's my sheep Piper. Off to the back of our property is our woods of cypress trees where there are Bald Eagle nests. Love the eagles but don't want 'em eating my chickens!

Oh and I should mention ~ ~ ~ I'm SURE the Lost Boys live in those woods too! LOL!!! When I'm walking back to the house from the barn in the dark and my back is to those woods ~ my imagination gets the best of me and I think the Lost Boys will fly out of the woods and get me! So I find myself walking faster and faster and faster, LOL LOL LOL!!!!!

Um.......Hester in the House?!

I know, I know ~ my mom would FREAK if she knew Hester Biddleton occasionally came in the house and hopped up on my island with the stove! She would probably NEVER eat here again! LOL! Hester doesn't live in the house but if she's near the door when it opens, in she comes! (good thing mom doesn't visit my blog ~ or doeesss sheeee????) Pretty soon I'll probably have Prudence Miller and Eliza Dorchester (more barred rocks) wanting to come in. And then there's Willow, Raven and on and on ~ can ya tell I LOVE my chickens!!!!!!??????

Anyhoo ~ I'm hoping each and every one of you have a wonderful weekend and upcoming Thanksgiving. Any Black Friday shoppers? NOT ME! I would love to get in on some of the deals out there being offered but can't take the crowds and traffic of Orlando even on a good day let alone Black Friday.

Hugs to all ~ Marte
