Better Late Than Never? I don't know...

Well here's my Santa on a spool rug ~ obviously not finished! But I'm workin' it. I so wanted to have it finished for the Christmas season but it wasn't to be. On top of everything else ~ these pictures were taken with my iPhone, my fairly new Sony Cybershot died. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone and it takes pretty decent pictures but for my rugs? not so much. Looks like a new camera will be in my future. So here he is ~ I promised progress pictures and here they are. Getting close ~ I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.......LOL!!!

Indeed! Hello to you all. I hope each and every one of you had a great summer and are ready for cooler months. I know I am! I've been away from here for quite a few months ~ not such a great summer for me but am looking forward to better days, one day at a time. I've also been away from my eBay selling ~ making my needle punch creations and hooked rugs. I've missed it and think I'm ready to begin again. I've drawn up a Santa and will begin hooking it into a rug, I can't wait!!!!
So check back here and there and I'll post pictures on my progress.

Garden Thyme Needle Punch Mat

I just finished this needle punch up ~ can't believe I actually got something done!!! It's been way busy around here lately and it's cut into my punchin'/hookin' time.

This is a great little doodle by Robin of Bird In The Hand Primitives ~ Thanks Robin for the wonderful design!!!

I'm going to list it on eBay tomorrow (Tuesday 5/10) but if anyone is interested in purchasing it outright ~ let me know before then.

Here's Remington our Great Dane and Spanky the cat. I caught them cozying up and snapped a picture. Remington has come aloooonnnggg way with the four banshee's (cats) that run around this house. Madison the pug still has a ways to go, lol! She's 9 years old and ain't havin' none of it!!

Here's another needle punch Fraktur rooster ~ same one I did not too long ago. This is a special order that seemed to take me forever to get finished. Mike had been in Maryland working for the past 4 weeks leaving all the farm chores for me, lol! That's ok, I didn't have to cook for the entire time ~ whoooo hoooo!!!! My microwave got a good workout, lol! Loved those popcorn, or cereal or pb&j suppers too.

This is my just finished rug ~ finally! It's a Maggie Bonanomi design from her book Nature's Offerings. Love this design ~ in fact, I did it as a needle punch too. I like the rug much more though...

Raining here today and I'm lovin' it! We so needed it. I washed my Mini Cooper yesterday so that's why it raining today, lol! Murphy's law...

Fraktur Rooster Needle Punch

I just finished this fraktur rooster np up this afternoon and will be listing it on eBay later on this evening ~ at least I hope I will be ~ I get sidetracked sometimes with busy busy around here.

I used another great design by Debbie St. Germain of Woolensails.

Then on to a rug I have drawn on linen. I'll be a hookin' for awhile :-) I have a special order and am excited to get started!

Hope ya'll are staying safe and warm in the parts of the country that are getting slammed this year with snow/ice storms. Right now we have thunder storms brewing and tornado warnings in some parts. Also hail is being reported, ugh!

Cats Super Bowl Party!!

Here's 3 of my party cats having their own super bowl party, lol! That's Oliver Crow, Spanky and Cammie livin' it up (they think). Chloe, the 4th cat is not a party girl apparently. She was probably snoozing in the laundry room on top of the cupboards in there ~ her favorite spot.

Did your favorite team win? I never have a favorite 'cuz I do not like sports on tv and don't pay attention to who's who. My husband does watch and likes all the snacks that go along with it. He especially likes the commercials I think.

Valentine Cat Needle Punch Pillow

Here's my newest needle punch all finished!!! I used a design from Chestnut Junction ~ I'm hooked on her designs, lol!!!

It's COLD here in Florida and I'm lovin' it! Not so sure my outside critters are enjoying it so much but I try to keep 'em as comfortable as I can. Everything is brown from the hard freezes we've had so far ~ there'll be a big Spring clean-up again this year. I don't cover any plants/bushes up ~ my philosophy is, what makes it, makes it and what doesn't, doesn't. I do bring potted plants in though.

Prim Cats Hooked Rug

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

I just finished up this rug ~ seems like it took me forever! Was so busy with the holiday's, didn't get much hookin' or punchin' done. This is a Twig 'n Sprigs design that I enlarged ~ this rug is a biggun' measuring about 21 1/2" x 24 1/2". It's a lot more muted in person, I'll never get the hang of taking good pictures...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I'm getting ready to settle down to a movie and buttered popcorn ~ yum!!

Whoo Hoooo My Son Graduated!!!!

It was a GOOD night last night! Justin graduated!!! He's getting his certificate in the first photo. Something on my lens ~ don't know what ~ BOO HISS! But still a GREAT picture I think! The second photo is of his dad, Justin and me. As you can see, Justin gets his heighth from his dad, not me ~ LOL! I'm a whopping 5' tall!

Just thought I'd post a picture of my husband and me on Christmas. We went to my son and DIL's and had a wonderful time! Lot's of food, fun and family ~ can't ask for much more than that!

Tonight we're going to my youngest son's graduation from the law enforcement academy ~ I'll take lots of pictures of that for sure and will post something from that. We're so excited for him, it was a long hard program but he got through it ~ now for the state exam.... One step at a time...LOL!

Henry ~ Lovin' Life...

Here's my old Henry all hunkered down for our cooler weather. Henry's my old guy ~ 12 years old now and doesn't move around too much. In fact, he doesn't drink out of his water dish anymore so I have a plastic Taco Bell cup I leave out there and I give him drinks from that, he drinks it down as if he were a human, lol! And of course he gets his 4 cookies every night for a bedtime snack. Life's not too bad for old Henry I'd say....

I've spent the better part of today working on getting both pig houses winterized, cleaning out my hen houses and cleaning the barn and stalls. Now I'm ready for something to eat, a good movie and some rug hookin'.

Prim Kats Needle Punch Pillow

Hi everybody! I hope you all had a GREAT Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful time with family and friends. Supper was here at our house and this ole gal is pooped and resting up today after yesterday's festivities, lol! It was so much fun though and I wouldn't change a thing about the day!

This is my newest needle punch creation. I used a Twigs and Sprigs design ~ LOVE her stuff!! The front of the pillow is of course needle punched and for the back, I wool appliqued the cats.

Any Black Friday shoppers out there? NOT ME ~ OH NO!!! Looks like it could be fun but I couldn't stand the traffic in Orlando ~ it's bad on a good day.

Christmas Cat Needle Punch

I finished it! This is my latest needle punch. I made it into a mini rug with a deep red wool backing. I guess it's kinda for the Christmas season but could be left out all winter long. Now on to the next project......which had better be two needle punch dolls for a dear friend of mine ~ she's been very patient with me on those, :-)

Awwww ain't he cute? (when he's sleeping.....lol!) Spanky and his siblings Oliver Crow, Cammie and Chloe are now 9 months old and BOY do they keep me busy when they're not sleeping! Kinda destructive too ~ my house is definitely not kitty proofed!!! Oh! and can I mention how crazy it gets when they get to running around the house and Remington the great dane joins in?????? I'm thinking of moving myself to the barn and letting them have the house, LOL!

Just thought I'd check in and update my blog ~ it's been awhile and now the holidays are upon us ~ where does the time go?? I'm hoping to post a picture of my newest needle punch on here soon. It's a cat (cat....like I don't see enough of those.....hehehe).

Hi to all my blogger friends! I'm so excited that I finally finished this needle punch! Since starting back to work after 2 1/2 years ~ I've had very little time to do what I love, still trying to find a good balance and routine with all that has to be done around here. Time to start on Christmas projects.......

I also want to mention that this is a Chestnut Junction design ~ I like to give the designer credit where credit is due :-) There are so many wonderful designs on that website!!!

Grandson's Tribute To Cowboy

Cowboy is the paint horse in the picture ~ he passed away a couple weeks ago sadly. He came to live with us alittle over 3 years ago and was an unwanted abused horse by the previous owner. He had a disease called Heaves (like COPD in humans) and my vet put him on steroids to help him breathe alittle better through the hot summer months here in Florida. This was a very bad summer as far as heat goes and poor old Cowboy didn't make it. He was 20 years old. I came home from work on a Friday and he was in the field and gone.

My grandkids are here for the weekend and my 9 year old grandson Jeremiah came out a little while ago and said he was going to the barn (I assumed to play). What he had done was hang a bell on Cowboy's stall door and wrote a poem. This is the poem as he wrote it, unedited by me.

Cowboy's bell

every time this bell ring's it shows a message from heaven saying you love me. If it rings one time your saying you love me if it rings two times it is saying you love me really much. If it rings three times you love me double time of love. If you say you love me I will pray for you. if I am not at the barn I will hear the bell from my heart. You will always be with me day threw night.

My New Mini Cooper S

Oh my friends I have been MIA for far too long! I'm sorry I haven't been updating like I should. I started back to work at the company I was laid-off from 2 1/2 years ago! I'm only part-time but whew! what an adjustment, lol! I have great hours though. I work from 7:30 a.m. til noon ~ home by 1:45.

So had to get a new ride and here it is! A 2011 Mini Cooper S. Fast little bugger, lol! It's so funny though ~ I went from driving an F-250 4WD Ford truck to this teeny tiny car. It's a pleasure to drive and wonderful to park compared to my truck. Oh and soooooo easy to wash too, I had to use a ladder to wash my truck. A dear friend of mine has a Mini too and she say's all you have to do is spit and the Mini is washed, LOL!

After things settle down around here with my new routine I have to get back to my needle punch and rug hookin' ~ I sure do miss it :-)

ANOTHER Cat / Pumpkin Needle Punch!!!

This is another one like the one I did a couple weeks ago except I used a burnt orange wool on the back so the cat would show up better and I used different wool yarn for the edges. This is the last one like this I promise, lol!

Baby Chick update ~ she/he is not doing so well. One foot is atrophied so the poor little thing has a hard time getting around. I'm keeping it as comfortable as I can for as long as.....well you know :-( Still loves to cuddle though.

Look At My Little Peeps!

I just snapped these pictures and had to share! These little babies were born in June and mama Willow is taking really really good care of them. I go out every night to put all the chickens to bed since they're free range through the day and give out what I call "midnight" snacks (hardly midnight though) but around 8:00 til the days get shorter. I buy cheap Wally World frozen corn in big bags, let it thaw and divvy it out into separate covered bowls. So the chickens get the corn and bread, the pigs, sheep and horses all get cookies ~ my nightly routine. Just recently Willow has decided to teach her kids to roost. The chick in the first picture is bigger and can get up there but the little chick in the second picture just can't do it yet. So I always go in after letting it try and try and pick it up and put it with mama. There's one more chick but it's in the house with me. For some reason it can't walk very well, always seems off balance. I checked for broken bones but everything seems fine there. I've never had a chick act like this one. I'll probably have to devise some sort of chicken diaper so it can live in here with me, lol! The little thing loves to cuddle in my neck while I'm on my computer.

All's quiet here on the farm ~ love those kind of days. I just watched a movie (Legion) and finished a needle punch Clara doll order for a sweet lady. Oh so relaxing.......

Primitive Cat, Pumpkin & Sunflower Needle Punch Pillow Tuck

I am on a "cat / pumpkin" thing lately! Just finished this up and am thinking of doing it in a hooked rug. This is a GREAT design by CHESTNUT JUNCTION. I changed it a bit by not punching the JOL face and I added a sunflower to the mix. Then I appliqued a cat and pumpkin out of wool to the back. Looks so much better in person ~ I know I always say that, lol ~ I am NOT a good photographer!

For those of you who have followed my own kitty saga ~ all the kittens are spayed and neutered ~ yippppeeeee!!!!! And the stray mama who we've now named Katze, got her stitches out today and all is well. NO MORE KITTENS for that poor cat every other month it seemed (I'm exaggerating....again....) and she can now put some weight on her tired bones. I'm not going to call her "a stray" from here on out ~ she's part of family now.

Needle Punch Kitty Cat & Pumpkin Pocket

Here's my latest needle punch ~ I did this as a pillow tuck and decided to reduce it a little and make up a pocket. Looks much better in person ~ that darn camera flash (or could be the photographer, hehe).

Super Duper hot here still and very little rain this year, blah!!!!! I want WINTER!

Well have a great weekend ya'll! I plan on getting some more punchin' done today after I get settled around here with the critters. Oh and my grandson is having an art show today in his bedroom here, can't wait for that! He really goes all out (he's 9) ~ he's making brownies for refreshments and even turns his TV on to a music channel that plays elevator type music, LOL! He gave me a small preview last night and there's a little cat he drew that I love. I'm having him draw it a little bigger on a separate piece of paper and I'm going to make use of it in one of my patterns. So cute! The things kids do to amuse themselves (and me :-)...........

Cat & Pumpkin Needle Punch

Here's another Fall finished piece. I'm doing Fall things now ~ dreaming of the cooler weather, lol! BUT we had RAIN this afternoon and it was so nice. The horses were sure enjoying it too. They were running through the field like youngsters and believe me my three horses are no spring chickens! I think even my chickens were loving the rain ~ they've actually been panting in all the heat.

Wool Hooked Candy Corn

Well, here's my hooked candy corn ~ did 'em as needle punch so decided to hook a set. I LOVE Fall and CAN NOT wait to get there! Heat index today was 107 degrees! It's miserable outside. And for some reason we're not getting the rain we usually get here in Florida during the summer months.

Anyhoo ~ I hope you like the candy corn ~ makes me want to buy a bag and eat 'em (though I don't think they're in the stores yet.....).

I just finished up this needle punch pillow tuck ~ it's a Chestnut Junction design with a bit of my own twist to it. Fun one to punch!

We're having rain off and on today. There's a tropical storm out there somewhere ~ I welcome the rain but the high winds, I can do without. Also loving the clouds bringing the temp down to the low 90's!!!

Kitty Kitty . . . . . .Or Kitties In My Case

Well here's my kitties at 5 months old! The first picture is them at 8 weeks old ~ thought I'd do an update on 'em. The second picture is Spanky, he's the largest one and oh so sweet, the third picture is Oliver Crow ~ he's such a mellow little guy, the fourth picture is Chloe (I call her my commercial cat) and the last pictue is Cammie ~ she's a cuddler. The only one missing here, is Zachary (the gray kitty) ~ I gave him to my step-son and his new wife and he is one spoiled kitty!!!!

Here's the thing. A stray cat had these kittens under our house ~ don't know where she came from or who she belongs to. She brought the kittens out from under the house and carried them all the way back to the barn, that's when I stepped in and brought the kittens into the house. The stray mama left after a few days, didn't see her anymore. Well she came back WITH A BIG BELLY! ~ me hoping she over ate somewhere!!!!! Not so ~ she has another litter and yes, under my house!!!!!! So I'm going to have to capture her somehow after her babies are older and get her spayed ~ not my cat but sure is my problem. So I'm welcoming her to my zoo, lol!!!!!!

Sunflower & Crows Needle Punch Pocket

How's everyone doing???? It's been awhile since I've updated my blog :-( BUT I have been having fun with my grand daughter who's spending the summer with us (she's 12) and her brother is coming tomorrow for the rest of the summer ~ he's 9. We have lots of fun!

In between the "fun", lol, I have been able to get some needle punchin' done. I just finished this pocket. Even sewed a wool sunflower to the back of the pocket for sumthin' different.

I hope everyone is having a nice summer! It's been waaaaaayyyyyyy too hot here in Florida for me ~ I'm dreaming of November...........

Seems Like Forever.........

Since I've posted on here! Sorry folks ~ just been busy around here. Of course my new kittens (now about 3 months old) are keeping me hopping!!!! They are a hand full for sure. One of 'em knocked over one of the elephants my husband collects and broke the tusk last night ~ I very quickly super glued it back on ~ good as new, lol! I'll get some updated pictures of them and post 'em on here. They are so cute and getting big.

Here's three needle punch pockets I've done up. Now I'm hooking a rug for my Ruth. It's of a horse and dog (a Debbie St. Germain design).

Um.......Hester in the House?!

I know, I know ~ my mom would FREAK if she knew Hester Biddleton occasionally came in the house and hopped up on my island with the stove! She would probably NEVER eat here again! LOL! Hester doesn't live in the house but if she's near the door when it opens, in she comes! (good thing mom doesn't visit my blog ~ or doeesss sheeee????) Pretty soon I'll probably have Prudence Miller and Eliza Dorchester (more barred rocks) wanting to come in. And then there's Willow, Raven and on and on ~ can ya tell I LOVE my chickens!!!!!!??????

Anyhoo ~ I'm hoping each and every one of you have a wonderful weekend and upcoming Thanksgiving. Any Black Friday shoppers? NOT ME! I would love to get in on some of the deals out there being offered but can't take the crowds and traffic of Orlando even on a good day let alone Black Friday.
